
Dhanalakshmi Poojary

Dhanalakshmi Poojary, a promising kabaddi player from Alva’s Sports Club, has been selected to the Indian women’s national kabaddi team for the second Women’s Kabaddi World Cup being held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, till November 25.
Ms. Poojary is the only player from South India to find a place in the national squad, said a release from the Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri. An all-rounder known for her consistency and versatility, she has emerged as a key performer in the team line-up.
A beneficiary of Alva’s Education Foundation’s free sports-adoption education scheme, Ms. Poojary has completed her PU, undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma programmes at Alvas.
She has represented Karnataka 12 times across junior nationals, senior nationals, and Federation Cup tournaments and has earlier attended four national coaching camps in both junior and senior categories.
Ms. Poojary has trained at the SAI Centre in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, as part of the final preparatory camp before leaving for Dhaka.
