Winning team
The Indian Mechanical and Automobile Engineering Society conducted national vehicle race on mud floor competition in Goa. About 25 groups of students from several States participated. With the guidance of Professor M. Sivasubramaniam, a 40-member team of Mechanical engineering students, including S. Nithish, T. Thamaraiselvan, Arjuna and William Samuel of Kalasalingam University, Srivilliputtur, participated with the vehicle they designed. They won in all categories and got first place and received the ‘Champion Ship’ cup, cash prize and certificates. Varsity Chancellor K. Sreedharan, Pro-Chancellor S. Arivazagi Sridharan, Vice Chancellor S.Narayanan, Registrar V. Vasudevan, Directors, Deans and Department Heads congratulated.

The Department Association inaugural ceremony of Sri Krishnasamy Arts and Science College, Mettamalai, Sattur, was held on July 14, 2025. The event was presided over by chairman K. Raju. College correspondent R. Muthukumar was the guest of honour. Principal R. Ushadevi presided. Student V. Kaviya welcomed. The correspondent, along with the principal, presented badges to the student president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and other office-bearers from various departments. Around 800 students participated in the ceremony. Student J. Anusuya proposed a vote of thanks.

The PG and Research Centre of Commerce, G.T.N. Arts College, Dindigul, organised a one-day seminar on ‘Job Opportunities in the Life Insurance Sector’ as part of its MoU activity with Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Dindigul. Associate Professor of Commerce and convener of the programme M. Muruganandam, welcomed all. The seminar was presided over by the college principal S. Saravanan. Chief Advisor, LIC, K. Manikandan, Dindigul and Branch Manager, CLIA SO N. Muthukumar, Dindigul were the resource persons. Head of the Department of Economics P. Ravichandran, and faculty members S. Srikala, S. Seenivasan, and P. Rani Chandrika were present.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Ramco Institute of Technology (RIT) with the ICT Academy, organised a one-week Faculty Development programme on Cyber Security from July 14 to 18, 2025, on the institute premises. It was inaugurated by principal of RIT L. Ganesan, vice-principal S. Rajakarunakaran, and GM(Admin), K. S. Selvaraj. The programme aimed to enhance awareness and ensuring digital safety in the academic and industrial ecosystem. Technical sessions were handled by Technical Trainer K. Siva Gopalan from ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu. A total of 40 faculty members from various institutions participated. It was coordinated by students M. Swarna Sudha and R. Bala Murugan under the guidance of K. Vijayalakshmi, Head of the Department, CSE.

Vanniaperumal College for Women organised a science exhibition on ‘Recent Trends in Science and Technology’ for three days, sponsored by Tamil Nadu State Council of Science and Technology, Chennai and NCSTC, Government of India, New Delhi, under the scheme ‘Popularisation of Science’. Secretary of the college T. T. Mathan, inaugurated. Nearly 600 students from 10 Government and Government-Aided schools in Virudhunagar district participated.

The Tamil martial art Silambam competition was held on Friday, on behalf of the Madurai Sagodaya School Complex at Sri Krishnasamy International School, Maraneri. Vice principal of Hayagrivas School Preetha presided. Around 250 students from more than 20 schools participated. School principal Dhanalakshmi and Physical Education Teacher Vijayan organised this event. School correspondent R. Muthukumar presented prizes.

The event was presided over by District Education Officer Suresh. Assistant Professor N Rajathilagam welcomed. Principal R. Sudha Periathai presided. Senior Audit Officer, Comptroller and Audit General of India N. Ram Prasad, Chennai, narrated how Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Learning enhances teaching. President, ESG CS Foundation A.N.S. Vijay, Sivakasi, organised. Philanthropist Arumuga Selvan, president, Rotary Club of ALPHA A. Shyamala, Sivakasi and president, JCI A.P.Mohana Vignesh Kumar, Sivakasi, addressed. Around 55 Commerce Teachers from 41 schools participated. Assistant Professor K.J.
