Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) general secretary Premallatha Vijayakant on Saturday asserted that whichever party the DMDK aligns with would “form the government.”
She made this statement while addressing the booth committee members meeting organised in Pudukottai in Thoothukudi. Observing that the DMDK was the only political party in Tamil Nadu without any cases related to corruption or accumulation of disproportionate assets, she said: “No one can intimidate us or force us to submit.”
Ms. Premallatha said the DMDK was the only party that continued its journey with its head held high without bowing down to any threats, steadfastly following the path shown by its leader (referring to the late Vijayakant). “This will continue till the very end,” she said. Referring to Vijayakant’s vision, she said: “We will achieve the dream and the goal for which our leader founded this movement.”
She expressed confidence that the DMDK would achieve a resounding victory in the 2026 Assembly election.
Speaking on the alliance, she said whichever alliance DMDK joined would be the one that forms the government. “Not only will they form a government, but the alliance we choose will give the DMDK its due respect, rightful number of seats, and appropriate positions. I will ensure that such an alliance is formed,” she asserted.
She added many candidates from the DMDK would emerge victorious in the election. “Within three months of the Assembly election results, the local body poll will be held. In those, we will firmly secure opportunities for our party cadre to contest as part our alliance and all of you will win,” Ms. Premallatha added.
