Even as the Kerala Government has joined the Centre’s PM Shri, the DMK was denying free and quality education to the children of Tamil Nadu by not joining the Union Government’s scheme, said BJP State leader, Nainar Nagenthran.

Addressing the people during his “Tamilagam Thalai Nimira Tamilanin Payanam” at Batlagundu, Mr. Nagenthran said that the Central scheme envisaged computerised education to the students.

Besides, it offered free of cost education without any fees for the students.

“However, the DMK Government does not want the children to get educated. It has been closing down many schools in the State,” Mr. Nagenthran accused. The DMK Government did not allow Kendriya Vidyalaya in Tamil Nadu, he said.

The DMK has failed to keep up its poll promises. It has not fulfilled its assurance of establishing new Arts and Science colleges in Dindigul district and also failed to execute irrigation schemes.

“While promised to reduce sale of liquor in phases, the DMK Government, on the the contrary, was fixing higher targets for selling liquor bottles through TASMAC,” the BJP leader said.

Failure to procure paddy on time in Delta region has led to germination of the paddy causing loss to the farmers, he said.

The road to Kodaikanal was in bad shape and the environment has deteriorated in the hill station.

The lake in the hill town was polluted. People suffered due to lack of drinking water and bus services, he said.

The new e-pass system has led to drastic reduction of tourists coming to Kodaikanal, he complained.

While the Stalin-Government has not done anything good of Dindigul district, the DMK has been complaining against the Centre.

The Union Government has given lot of development projects like railway electrification, new fourway highway connecting Tiruvarankurichi with Madurai via Natham, improvements works in railway stations.

Stating that the BJP has formed a formidable alliance with the AIADMK and would unseat the DMK Government in the ensuing election to Tamil Nadu Assembly. “AIADMK general secretary, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, will become the Chief Minister again,” he said.

AIADMK leaders, Dindigul C. Srinivasan and Natham R. Srnivasan, spoke on the occasion.
