The makers of Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming film Kaanthaannounced on Monday (October 20) that the film will release in theatres on November 14.
Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films, which is producing the film along with Rana Daggubati’s banner Spirit Media, announced the news with a motion poster.
The upcoming film is directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, known for directing Nila (2016) and the acclaimed Netflix documentary series The Hunt for Veerappan.
The makers had earlier released the film’s teaser, which shows Dulquer as a superstar who has been trained all his life by his father (Samuthirakani) to be in films. However, as time passes, Dulquer and Samuthirakani seem to develop an unexplained animosity towards each other. In the teaser, Samuthirakani is seen choking and throwing chairs at Dulquer.

Dulquer was last seen in the film Lucky Bhaskar, which performed well at the box office in 2024. He also appeared in a cameo in Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra, which he also produced. Notably, he also appeared along with Tovino Thomas in the announcement promo of the second Lokah film.
