The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday (September 25, 2025) carried out searches in Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam in connection with the Srushti Fertility Centre scam.
The agency has booked Universal Srushti Fertility Centre and its head, 64-year-old A Namratha, in a parallel money laundering case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. Multiple FIRs had earlier been filed against her, prompting Hyderabad police to register cases since 2019.
According to investigators, complaints from childless couples pointed to DNA mismatches in babies, substitution of infants, and failure to carry out procedures despite collecting large sums of money. The ED has registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) and is probing the flow of funds linked to the scam.
Officials said the searches are aimed at tracing the laundering trail and identifying assets acquired through alleged irregularities. Action is expected in the coming days as the probe widens across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
