A student of a private school at Sivanmalai near Kangeyam in Tiruppur district died on the spot on Saturday after a branch of a neem tree on the campus fell on him, in the evening hours.
Akshayan, a 11th standard student, was proceeding towards a restroom when a large branch fell on him.
The body was shifted to Kangeyam Government Hospital for postmortem.
The Kangeyam police have registered a case.
