The Seshadripuram police arrested a former Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) employee and two of his accomplices for allegedly forging a document to grab a BDA site in Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout in Bengaluru.

Based on a complainant filed by officials of the vigilance squad, police arrested Chikkarayi, 68, of Gubbalala and his associates Muralidhara, 60, of Channapattana and Manjunath B., 48, of Vasantha Nagar who were working as touts in the BDA office.

According to the police, BDA had allotted a site to a person named Bhyrappa at Arakavathy Layout in 2006, and offered an alternative site in Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout. Before claiming the site, Bhyrappa died. When the accused got to know about this, they allegedly created fake documents and claimed the property impersonating Bhyrappa.

The racket came to light when family members of Bhyrappa came to know about the fraud and raised a complaint. The matter was referred to the BDA Vigilance Cell, which probed the matter in detail before filing a case with the jurisdictional police seeking legal action.
