The State Task Force (STF) of the Telangana Prohibition and Excise department carried out two separate operations in the city, leading to the seizure of narcotics, and the arrest of one.
In Jungoor Basti, Dhoolpet, a STF team seized 1.133 kg of ganja from a house following a tip-off. Aarti Bai was taken into custody, while another accused, Shiva Singh, remains absconding. The seized material was handed over to the Dhoolpet excise station for further investigation.
In another operation, officials seized 31 bottles of liquor illegally brought into Telangana from Delhi and Goa during a raid in Shamshabad. The liquor was confiscated as part of ongoing checks against illegal possession and sale.
Cases have been booked and investigations are under way to trace the absconding accused.
