Sivaganga police arrested a government school teacher near S. Pudur for allegedly sexually harassing girl students.
Police said Arockiasamy, 51, teacher at a government higher secondary school near S. Pudur was accused of sexually harassing some of his female students.
Following a complaint, the District Child Protection Officer, Block Education Officer, and others conducted an investigation at the school. Based on their findings, the Tiruppattur All-Women Police registered a case under the POCSO Act and arrested the teacher.
Upon hearing the news, parents gathered and picketed the school. When police tried to disperse them, an argument ensued.
As the police pacified the protesters, the parents dispersed.
