GVMC Project Director of Urban Community Development, P.M. Satyavani, on Tuesday (September 30, 2025) urged the street vendors to make use of the benefits of the Lok Kalyan (PM SVANidhi 2.0) scheme.
She said that the PM SVANidhi scheme was designed to financially strengthen street vendors, improve their standard of living, and enable them to run their businesses with dignity and independence.
Under the scheme, facilities such as collateral-free loans, incentives for digital transactions, credit cards, FSSAI certificates, socio-economic surveys, GST registration, and other benefits are being provided, she said.
To create awareness, a Lok Kalyan Mela has already been organised under the aegis of the National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM 2.0)with the sponsorship of the Central government, for the Street Vending Committee members and street vendors.
