Harish slams Chief Minister for ‘vulgar language’, alleges secret pact with BJP

Former Minister and BRS MLA T. Harish Rao has taken strong exception to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s language, calling it vulgar and an attempt to divert attention from his government’s failures during the last two-and-a-half years.

Mr. Rao contested the Chief Minister’s claims of implementing loan waivers and issuing ₹25,000 crore in interest-free loans. He challenged the Chief Minister to publicly present evidence, saying the current government had only continued the earlier BRS scheme of ₹5 lakh interest-free loans.

Speaking at a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday, Mr. Rao levelled a series of allegations against the Congress government, asserting that it had neglected farmers, abandoned key welfare schemes, and pushed the State backward.

Expressing strong displeasure over Revanth Reddy’s comments during a public meeting, he called them distressing and unbecoming of a Chief Minister. He alleged that civil society was also enraged by the tone and choice of words used by the Chief Minister. “Political criticism is common, but a person holding the position of Chief Minister should uphold values. But Mr. Reddy is resorting to crude language to cover up his incompetence,” he claimed.

Defending former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, Mr. Rao said Telangana’s development and aspirations were realised under KCR’s leadership. He credited the former CM with implementing several flagship schemes such as Rythu Bandhu. He alleged that one scam per month had occurred in Telangana under Revanth Reddy’s government.

In response to Revanth’s criticism of the SLBC tunnel works, Mr. Rao said the BRS government had completed 11.5 km of the tunnel between 2014 and 2023, excluding the pandemic years. He claimed that the present government had not completed even 100 metres.
