The Additional District and Sessions Court, Chengalpattu, convicted and sentenced a history sheeter to life imprisonment for murdering his stepmother over a property dispute in 2012.
According to police, on June 6, 2012 at Kannabiran Koil Street, Pallavaram, the deceased Jayanthi, 37 was murdered inside her residence, due to property dispute. On the complaint of her husband Manuvel, a case was registered at Pallavaram Police Station.
After investigation, the accused Jeevanandhan, 29 of Tirusulam, her stepson was arrested. He is a history sheeted ‘B’ category rowdy in Pallavaram Police Station. He was involved in six criminal cases.
The trial court sentenced Jeevandandhan to life-imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹3000 on him.
