‘Incentives are given to milk suppliers as per govt norms’

The Department of Dairy Development has said that the incentives to milk suppliers were being disbursed as per the government norms.

A farmer had submitted a petition to the District Collector last week at the weekly grievance redress meeting stating that they were not given the due incentive as per the government order.

Clarifying, the Dairy Development Department officials said that even though the government had allowed the incentive of ₹3 per litre, this incentive is permissible only for the milk being sent to the union as per the condition stipulated by the government. Hence, the incentive for milk being sold in the local market is being given only from the milk society’s funds.
