India will become the factory of the future with its software defined economy and intellectual property, said Dassault Systemes CEO Pascal Daloz here on Wednesday.
Speaking at the French tech firm’s annual event 3DEXPERIENCE FORUM 2025, Mr. Daloz, who was in Bengaluru as part of his India tour said, “India is one economy that will drive the future of the world because the country has the innovative power, imagination and the workforce of the future.. And intellectual property is becoming the new currency.”
Dassault Systèmes, a 3D design, engineering and digital simulation software firm, also announced a partnership with ePlane, an Indian startup specialising in electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
According to Dassault Systèmes, ePlane would leverage its 3DEXPERIENCE platform, including the on-cloud applications, to enable rapid, model-based system engineering and end-to-end digital simulation. The partnership also would help ePlane to fast-track design iterations, streamline certifications with DGCA.
3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) is a business and innovation platform that provides organisations with a holistic, real-time vision of their business activity and ecosystem.
Dassault Systèmes’ cloud-based solutions have allowed ePlane to accelerate full aircraft design iterations, enhance multidisciplinary collaboration, and optimise complex engineering workflows, ensuring safety, reliability, and accelerated time-to-market, the firm claimed.

Dassault Systèmes was happy to be the technology partner enabling ePlane’s vision for zero-emission, accessible, and sustainable urban transportation in India and beyond, he added.

Digital continuity across all phases of aircraft development significantly reduced engineering cycle times and de-risked critical certification milestones, he further said.
According to Chakravarthy, ePlane’s mission is to revolutionise urban transportation with its all-electric, zero-emission e200x, designed to be the world’s most compact eVTOL, with a 8×10 meter footprint,115 km range, and a Pilot+200 kg payload. The ePlane Company is the first private entity in India to receive Design Organisation Approval for 2-19 seater aircraft, from DGCA. The Type Certification process of e200x is also well underway with DGCA accepting the application in Dec 2024, positioning ePlane’s air-ambulance to be type certified and operational readiness by 2027-28.
