Mention ITC Kakatiya and more often than not, the topic of midnight biryani takes over with a whiff of nostalgia. The hotel has decided to revive its midnight biryani buffet at its Deccan Pavilion restaurant.
Along with its biryani, the hotel’s classics such as the marag, dum ka murg, keema, gutti vankaya and desserts such as qubani ka meetha with icecream and shahi tukda are also back.
Abhishekh Menon, general manager of the hotel, said, “As we mark 30 years of ITC Kakatiya, we bring back not just a culinary tradition but the emotions and memories attached to it. The Midnight Buffet was once an integral part of Hyderabad’s dining culture, and its revival is our way of celebrating nostalgia while creating new experiences for today’s generation.”
Chef Bhaskar Sankhari added, “The team was excited with the idea of the comeback. I experienced the craze for midnight biryani back then, and the aroma filling the restaurant as the biryani handis were opened.”
The biryanis on offer include mutton, chicken and vegetable variations.
The midnight biryani buffet will be available on Fridays and Saturdays. If you are not a biryani person, look out for the keema served with kulcha and naan.
For shorba lovers, there is Nalli Nihari served with Hyderabad’s famous munshi naan. While there, also ask for the chilli chicken. The perfectly caramalised soya sauce with pieces of green chili, and a mix of vegetables and chicken will also fix your Indo-Chinese cravings.
Buffet priced at ₹899 per head.
