Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi will nominate U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Tuesday (October 28, 2025).
Ms. Takaichi met Mr. Trump on Tuesday (October 28, 2025) morning in Tokyo where they discussed economic and security matters.
“In such a short period of time the world started to enjoy more peace,” Ms. Takaichi told reporters through an interpreter on Tuesday.
“I myself was so impressed and inspired by you Mr. President,” Ms. Takaichi added.

Mr. Trump had said it would be an “insult” to the United States if he did not receive the Nobel Peace Prize for his self-proclaimed role in solving multiple wars.
He had many times repeated his claim that he has solved seven wars since his return to office in January.
