As you probably know, earlier this year, JoJo Siwa had a pretty eye-opening experience on the UK series of Celebrity Big Brother, which aired in April.
Throughout the show, viewers saw JoJo develop an incredibly close relationship with British Love Island star Chris Hughes, who she originally referred to as her “platonic soulmate.” Then, shortly after ending her three-month romance with Kath at Big Brother‘s wrap party, JoJo and Chris confirmed they had become more than friends.
And JoJo reflected on how much her life has changed in a recent TikTok featuring Chris, with the star reiterating in the post that she is currently happier than ever. However, the video may not have landed as intended, with JoJo being mercilessly roasted for her clunky choice of words in the TikTok’s caption.
In the short clip, Chris has his arm around JoJo and kisses her on the head as she pours milk into two mugs of tea. Both of them are smiling, and at one point, Chris brings over a vase of flowers.
“‘You look happier,’” JoJo wrote over the footage. “thank you this is my mornings now, and I’ve perfected how to make the perfect tea.”
But things took a turn when one viral quote-tweet asked: “Why is her command of language so bad tbh,” with this particular post having 5 million views and over 140k likes, retweets, and replies at the time of writing — with many other social media users leaping to JoJo’s defense over the arguably cruel question.
In case you didn’t know, JoJo is actually a former child star, and was just 9 years old when she found global fame on the second season of Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition in 2013. She and her mom, Jessalynn Siwa, joined Season 5 of the hit reality series Dance Moms shortly afterwards, which JoJo starred on until 2016.
