Judicial association flags forged letter on corruption

The Judicial Service Association of Delhi on Wednesday issued a statement condemning the circulation of a forged letter on social media platforms and WhatsApp groups, falsely accusing judges of the district judiciary of corruption.

According to the association, an anonymous person has circulated a “forged and mischievously crafted” letter dated November 5, 2025, falsely issued in the association’s name. The statement said the forger had “unlawfully invoked” the association’s identity in an attempt to lend “false credibility” to baseless claims.

Calling the act a “deliberate and malicious attempt to tarnish the image of the judiciary,” the association said the fabricated letter contained defamatory assertions intended to cast unwarranted aspersions on the functioning of the courts. “Such targeted misinformation, particularly when directed at trial courts dealing with sensitive and significant matters, poses a serious threat to the independence of the judiciary,” the statement read.

The association said it is initiating steps to identify those responsible for crafting and circulating the forged communication.
