The Kerala High Court on Monday dismissed a discharge plea by businessman V.M. Radhakrishnan seeking quashing of abetment to suicide charge against him in connection with the alleged suicide of Saseendran, company secretary of Malabar Cements, and his two sons in 2011.
The CBI had charged Mr. Radhakrishnan with abetment to suicide, alleging that he had threatened Mr. Saseendran to give a testimony in his favour, in a corruption case related to the cement manufacturing firm. The CBI chargesheet says that this reportedly led to Mr. Saseendran taking his life, after killing his own sons, at their house in Palakkad.
A Bench of Justice V.G. Arun dismissed Mr. Radhakrishnan’s plea and directed him to approach the trial court, which is slated to pass its order in the case.
