A large number of devotees enthusiastically participated in the ‘Prabhat Pheri’, organised by the UTSAB Cultural Association, on Sunday. The procession, began from the Sri Krishna Mandir at Zilla Parishad junction, and concluded at AMCOSA Hall.
Dressed in traditional attire, devotees of all ages, sang bhajans, devotional songs, and danced to the rhythms of traditional instruments such as the Dhaki and Kansor with Shankho.
‘Prabhat Pheri’, is derived from the words ‘Prabhat’ which means morning and ‘Pheri’ means procession is a deeply rooted devotional and cultural event, said the members of the Association.
It typically involves an early morning procession through local streets, accompanied by devotional songs, prayer chanting, and musical instruments. This practice is widely observed in many parts of India and holds great spiritual significance, they said.
