Lindsay Arnold is really impressed by how much Scott Hoying’s dancing has already improved in just two weeks of Dancing With the Stars.

On Tuesday, September 23, Lindsay, 31, shared an Instagram Story of her daughters Sage, 4, and June, 2, copying the moves to her younger sister, Rylee Arnold, and her Pentatonix partner’s week 2 dance on DWTS.

“Nothing is cuter than watching these girlies copying their auntie @ryleearnold also Sage isn’t wrong this was a hard dance!!!!” Lindsay, who shares Sage and June with husband Samuel Lightner Cusick, captioned the clip. “@scotthoying you should be sooo proud of yourself! Content, performance, technique!!!! So much improvement.”

For their week 2 dance, Rylee, 20, and Hoying, 34, performed the cha-cha dance to “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” by Eiffel 65 and scored an 18 out of 30. The duo were safe in the elimination and are moving on to week 3.

Lindsay Arnold isn’t competing in the Dancing With the Stars ballroom this season, but she’s been there to see some of sister Rylee Arnold‘s biggest moments. “What I really like about Scott is he’s so musically inclined, and he can move!” Rylee told Good Housekeeping in an interview published on Wednesday, September 24. “He’s got really good rhythm and he’s just fierce! Rylee started as a DWTS pro in 2023 after Lindsay was a pro dancer on the show from 2013 until announcing in August 2022 that she wanted to step back from the show to focus on being a mom.

“This has been one of the hardest decisions to make but ultimately, I have chosen what I feel is best for myself and my family,” she wrote via Instagram in August 2022. “As many of you know my family and I live in [Utah] and in order to do DWTS I have to move myself and my daughter Sage out to LA and leave behind my husband Sam who works full time here in Utah.”

Since her departure, Lindsay — and her daughters — have been cheering on her little sister.

“People always ask, they’re like, ‘Is it so much harder to not do the show now that Riley’s on?’ I’m like, ‘Honestly, no,’” Lindsay shared in a July 2024 interview on “The Squeeze Podcast.” “It’s literally like I’m watching myself 12 years ago. I feel everything more for Riley than I ever did for myself. I’m more nervous for Riley than I ever was for myself. I’m more excited for her. I’m more proud.”
