A 52-year-old man, who was arrested by the All-Women Police, Puzhal under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, died due to heart attack.
The man was identified as Arockiaraj, 52, a resident of Petharaja Street, Madhavaram. He was arrested by the police on December 24 on charges of sexually assaulting a minor and was lodged at Central Prison, Puzhal.
On Friday morning, he had chest pain and seizure and the prison staff rushed him to Government Stanley Hospital where the doctors examined and declared him dead.
