The Chittoor POCSO Court slapped 20-year rigorous imprisonment (RI) on a person convicted for rape of a minor girl on Tuesday. The case was registered under Buchi Naidu Kandriga police station back in 2021.
Yugandhar (23) of Sullurpeta was accused of abducting and raping a 13-year-old girl hailing from the B.N. Kandriga area on September 23, 2021. After registering case 173/2021 under IPC sections 363 (Abduction) and 506 (Threat), the accused was arrested and produced in the court for trial.
The POCSO Court on Tuesday delivered the verdict, sentencing the convict to rigorous imprisonment for 20 years, apart from imposing a fine of ₹6,500.
