The Royapettah Police registered a case against a man who killed a newborn puppy on Tuesday.
The police said a 23-year-old woman of P.V. Koil First Street in Royapettah had been feeding stray dogs for many years.
On Monday, a stray dog gave birth to five puppies at the house of Shankar, who lives in the same area. Enraged by this, Shankar threw a puppy to the ground, killing it. On hearing the puppy’s cries, the woman rushed to the spot and saw Shankar throwing it into a garbage bin.
The woman alerted the Blue Cross and the Royapettah police. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case.
