The fourth edition of the K10K Cancer awareness run, organised by Kauvery Hospital, was held in the city on Sunday.
Health Minister Ma. Subramanian flagged off the marathon, which had two categories: 5 kilometres and 10 kilometres. The annual run is being held to promote awareness of cancer, the importance of early screening, and preventive health practices.
P. Vijaykumar, Joint Commissioner of police (Traffic South) and Dr. Aravindan Selvaraj, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Kauvery Hospital, also participated. The marathon saw more than 7,000 participants across all ages.
