A Level-III fire broke out on Thursday morning (October 23, 2025) at the JNS Business Center, a ground-plus-13-storey glass façade commercial building located on S.V. Road near Gandhi School in Behrampada, Jogeshwari (West), Mumbai. The incident was first reported at around 10:51 a.m. and was initially classified as a Level-II fire.
According to officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), the incident was first reported at 10:51 a.m., and within minutes, the fire escalated from Level-I at 10:46 a.m. to Level-II at 10:48 a.m., and then to Level-III at 10:54 a.m.
Flames were seen shooting out from the 9th to 12th floors of the building. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus (BA) sets carried out rescue and ventilation operations to assist people trapped inside.
A total of nine fire engines, one fire tender, one major water tanker, one quick response vehicle, one SCBA, seven jumbo tankers, two water tankers, two aerial ladder platforms, two turntable ladders, two hose platforms, one control post, and a 108 ambulance were deployed. Senior officials, including the Chief Fire Officer (CFO), two Deputy CFOs, three Divisional Fire Officers (DFOs), four Assistant Divisional Fire Officers (ADFOS), two Senior Station Officers (Sr. SOs), and 10 Station Officers (SOs), were present at the site.
As of the latest update at 11:50 a.m., no injuries have been reported. Firefighting and cooling operations are currently under way.
