Every country has the right to bid and host the Olympics, Jassim Abdulaziz Al Jassim, Chief Executive Officer, Local Organising Committee for Football Events in Qatar, told reporters on Wednesday, reaffirming the country’s wish to host the 2036 Games.
India, where the 2030 Commonwealth Games will be held, has also expressed interest in hosting the Olympics.
“The Olympics is very big. Qatar wants to host it, and we will bid for sure. India also has a great bidding plan. I’m not really involved in the bidding process for 2036, but I know that we have the infrastructure and the know-how. India also has a lot of good aspects and a lot of positive things that will help it. May the best country win,” Jassim said.
