Medavakkam Periya Eri restored at a cost of ₹50 lakh

The Medavakkam Periyar Eri was restored recently through a collaboration between Flex Foundation, instituted by Flex, an electronic manufacturing firm and Thaagam Foundation. A press release said the restoration efforts included an eco-park and scenic bund pathway among the other beautification projects. The ₹50 lakh project aimed at improving groundwater recharge and creating a clean and green recreational space for the community. Sabuj D. Choudhary, vice-president – Legal and Managing Director, Flex, inaugurated the project in the presence of elected representatives, officials of government agencies, including Medavakkam Panchayat Union and Water Resources Department and residents.
