Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday said the rising number of women participating in marathons demonstrates advancing equality in society.
“It is a positive sign of growing awareness and equal opportunities in society,” said Ms. Gupta, who participated in the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon.
She said the Delhi government, with the resolve of ‘Healthy Delhi, Strong Delhi’, is continuously working “to provide every citizen a life full of health, energy, and confidence”.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood joined the 40,000 fitness enthusiasts who participated in the marathon.
