National Investigation Agency conducts training programme for Puducherry police officers

Around 60 officers belonging to the territorial police, including those in the rank of Superintendent of Police, underwent a three-day training programme, conducted jointly by the Police department and the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

During the training programme, the officers were imparted lessons on criminal investigation and legal aspects involved with special emphasis on dealing cases registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The aim was to enhance the investigative and legal skills of the police officers, the police said.

The training programme was jointly inaugurated by Shakthi Ganesan, Chief Superintendent of NIA, Chennai and R. Kalaivanan, Senior Superintendent of Police, Law and Order, Puducherry Police. Special lectures were delivered by G. Siddiramulu, Senior Public Prosecutor and Chandru and B. Mohan, Special Public Prosecutors of the NIA.  The sessions were coordinated by Investigating Officers and Technical Team of NIA, Chennai.
