The Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit (ANIU) arrested a Nigerian national for smuggling cocaine from Bengaluru, and seized 27 g of cocaine and a mobile phone from him.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of ANIU personnel and officers from CMBT Police Station conducted surveillance near the 100 Feet Road outside Koyambedu Bus Terminus on Saturday morning.
During the operation, they intercepted Kelechi Thankgod, 37, of Nigeria, who had alighted from an omni bus arriving from Bengaluru. A search revealed that he had cocaine. He was taken into custody and interrogated.
