There are no plans for U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to meet “in the immediate future,” a senior White House official said on Tuesday (October 21, 2025), days after Mr. Trump floated another summit with his Russian counterpart.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also have no plans to meet in person, the official said, saying their call on Monday (October 20) was “productive.”
