Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief Seeman lost his cool and engaged in a wordy duel with a reporter of a Tamil news channel on Sunday.

The incident occurred during a press conference organised by the party on the sidelines of a consultative meeting of office bearers from Puducherry and Cuddalore ahead of the 2026 Legislative Assembly election at a private marriage hall in Villianur.

While addressing the press meet, Mr. Seeman got into a wordy duel with a journalist of a private TV channel when the latter raised questions about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise and the Centre’s rejection of Metro Rail project proposals for Coimbatore and Madurai.

Mr. Seeman lost his cool and verbally abused the journalist and asked him to be sent out of the meeting. Commotion prevailed at the venue after NTK party cadres tried to push the journalist from the venue.

Meanwhile, various journalists’ organisations condemned Mr. Seeman’s outburst at the mediaperson. Puducherry Leader of Opposition R. Siva also condemned the incident
