‘Operation Cambodia’: Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tharun Moorthy team up for ‘Operation Java’ sequel

After scoring a hat-trick of hits at the box office with Thudarum, Malayalam filmmaker Tharun Moorthy has announced the sequel to his debut film, Operation Java, a slick thriller on Kerala Police’s cyber cell, released in 2021. Titled Operation Cambodia, it has Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role.

Tharun and Prithviraj shared a title poster of the film on their social media handles to announce the news.

2021’s Operation Java followed a series of investigations that were undertaken by a cyber cell police station in Kochi, Kerala.

The upcoming sequel will see Lukman Avaran, Balu Varghese, Binu Pappu, Prasanth Alexander, Irshad Ali, and Deepak Vijayan reprising their roles from the first film.. Lukman and Balu played unemployed engineering graduates who get temporary postings in the cyber cell and use their skill to solve cases.

Jakes Bejoy will score the music while Faiz Siddik is the cinematographer. The movie is produced by Worldwide Films and V Cinemas International along with Tharun’s newly-launched production house, The Manifestation Studio.

Currently Tharun is shooting Torpedo, starring Naslen, Arjun Das, Ganapathi and Fahadh Faasil and written by Binu Pappu.
