The Orlando Police Department released a statement Wednesday addressing a video circulating on social media that shows an officer’s recent arrest of a man accused of waving a gun.The incident occurred on July 4, 2025, around 6:40 p.m., when an officer responded to a disturbance call involving a firearm at 4334 Crossroads Court. A witness reported that Zion Ephraim Jessiah Skepple, 22, was waving a gun in the presence of multiple people.According to the police statement, when the officer arrived, Skepple, who matched the witness’s description, was seen walking away and looking back at the police vehicle. The officer gave multiple commands for him to stop, but Skepple did not comply. An initial taser deployment was ineffective.Skepple then ran toward a nearby apartment. A second taser deployment caused him to fall, but he quickly got up and continued toward an apartment door. At one point, Skepple turned away from the officer and appeared to reach for something out of the officer’s view. In response, the officer drew their service weapon and ordered Skepple to stop and get on the ground.Skepple complied and was taken into custody. A search of his person revealed a firearm with an extended magazine containing 31 rounds, along with cannabis.Skepple was charged with Possession of Cannabis and Resisting an Officer Without Violence.The Orlando Police Department’s Internal Affairs Unit will review the incident.
