A total of 24,051 people underwent health screening at eleven medical camps organised under the ‘Nalam Kaakkum Stalin’ scheme across Coimbatore district between August and October 2025.
The initiative of the Tamil Nadu government aims to provide comprehensive medical check-ups and facilitate access to public health and welfare services.
According to the district administration, participation at the eleven camps were as follows: Sarkar Samakulam – 1,411, Pooluvapatti – 1,538, Annur – 1,918, Vadavalli – 2,572, Pollachi (North) – 1,647, Periyanaickenpalayam – 2,678, Sulur – 3,039, Karamadai – 2,046, Arisipalayam – 2,445, Kalavai (near Kuniyamuthur) – 3,185, and Kanjampatti – 1,574.
The camps also facilitated new enrolments under the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme, and cancer screening for men and women.
Across the camps, 5,531 people underwent ENT screening, 5,383 eye check-ups, 5,807 dental examinations, 1,641 dermatology consultations, 1,706 cardiology tests, and 1,222 gynaecological examinations.
