TwinTech Healthcare Services, a unit of TwinTech Institute of Education Trust (TIET), has helped 5,351 senior citizens through their Free Doorstep Comprehensive Geriatric Eye Care Program across Chennai. This initiative reaches senior citizens in old-age homes, mentally challenged individuals, and children studying in Veda Padasalai schools – providing free eye care services at their doorstep.
The services include comprehensive eye examinations, cataract and glaucoma screening, retina (fundus) evaluation, refraction tests, free spectacles, surgery referrals, and regular follow-ups. In addition, general health check-ups and mobility exercises are also provided for elders. The initiative has reached over 30 centres and homes, according to a release.
