The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK)’s general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami said on Tuesday appealed to the Union government to ensure adequate supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders.
In a post on his social media handle, Mr Palaniswami wanted the State government to see to it that fuel and concessions were provided to restauraunts in the State for smooth functioning. The State government should restrain itself from “creating unnecessary panic” among people. It should also make arrangements for Amma Unavagams to function on a full fledged basis, the AIADMK leader pointed out.
The former interim general secretary of the AIADMK called upon the Central and State governments to take action against those who resorted to hoarding and black marketing of domestic LPG cylinders. The Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) founder T.T.V. Dhinakaran expressed concern over the shortage of LPG cylinders and the consequent impact on the life of the common man.
