PMK founder S. Ramadoss on Sunday said he will form a ‘victorious alliance’ to face the 2026 Assembly elections.
Speaking at the ‘general council meeting’ of his party’s Salem district unit, in which 12 resolutions were passed, he said protests will be held across the State in December demanding 10.5% reservation for Vanniyars. The PMK will form a victory alliance in 2026 Assembly elections, he said and asked the PMK cadre to develop the party and bring youth, especially women, into the party.
At the meeting, Salem West MLA R. Arul recalled how Dr. Ramadoss started the Vanniyar Sangam 46 years ago when Anbumani was only seven or eight-years-old. Everyone joined the PMK for Dr. Ramadoss and not for Mr. Anbumani and the PMK cadre are only with Dr. Ramadoss, he said.
Dr. Ramadoss’s daughter Srikanthi Parasuraman, who he appointed as the party’s ‘working president’, said no one is equal to Dr. Ramadoss who has travelled across the State and organised the Vanniyar people.
Party’s ‘honorary president’ G.K. Mani said the PMK faced hardships for the past few months. But those were gone on Saturday after the Dharmapuri district general council meeting.
