Presidency University, in collaboration with ICAR and ICAR-IIHR, hosted a 24-hour agriTech hackathon — Chip to Crop — uniting tech and agriculture, on October 14.

Dr. Tusar Kanti Behera, Director of ICAR-IIHR, and Dr. Nissar Ahmed, Chancellor of Presidency University, inaugurated the event.

Jointly organised by the School of Engineering and the School of Computer Science, the event attracted over 100 registrations, with 30 shortlisted teams developing innovative prototypes.

The final round featured live demonstrations by the participating teams and evaluation of innovative solutions addressing critical challenges in the AgriTech domain by IIHR scientists.

Dr. Behera emphasised the importance of tech-driven farming while Dr. Ahmed highlighted the value of hands-on learning and research collaboration.

The initiative aimed to foster real-world innovation and strengthen industry-academia ties.
