Private bank employee arrested with LSD stamps in Chennai

A 23-year-old private bank employee was arrested at Meenambakkam in Chennai for possessing LSD stamps, a potent hallucinogenic drug. Police seized 121 LSD stamps from him.

The Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit (ANIU) along with officers from 12 police districts have been intensifying action against narcotic drugs and tracing the networks involved.

Following a tip-off, the Meenambakkam police led by the Inspector conducted a surveillance operation near Meenambakkam Railway Station Road on Monday (November 3, 2025) and detained a person who was acting suspiciously. Upon interrogation and search, the team found that he had concealed LSD stamps intended for sale.

Police registered a case at the Meenambakkam Police Station and arrested the accused Deepak of Pozhichalur, recovering 121 LSD stamps from him.

Investigation revealed that Deepak was employed at a private bank. Police are on the look out for another suspect who is currently absconding. After interrogation, Deepak was produced before court and remanded to judicial custody.
