Eight people were injured when a private travel bus overturned near the toll plaza at Peda Amberpet on Saturday (October 25, 2025) afternoon. The accident comes a day after 19 individuals were killed in a collision in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh after a private bus rammed into a two-wheeler.
On Saturday (October 25), the bus, belonging to NEU GO Travels (AP 39 UP 1963), was travelling from Miyapur to Guntur with six passengers, two drivers and a conductor on board.
According to the Inspector of Abdullapurmet police Ashok Reddy, the incident occurred around 12.35 p.m. when the driver, allegedly driving rashly and negligently, lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the central divider before the toll plaza, causing the bus to overturn.
“Four passengers, identified as Shaik Zaheer, 20, Akula Gayatri, 23, both from Guntur, Kasthik Subash, 23, from Mangalagiri, and A. Prabhakar, 30, from Guntur, were shifted to a private hospital in Hayathnagar for treatment,” said the officer.
The remaining passengers, Mounica, 26, and Prathusha, 26, both from Guntur, along with the two drivers, Vera Anjaneya Reddy, 63, and Srinivas, 35, were taken to Apollo DRDO Hospital in Kanchanbagh.
The Abdullapurmet police registered and an investigation is underway. Officials confirmed that traffic movement near the toll plaza was not affected.
