Counting of votes for Tarn Taran Assembly byelection in Punjab began on Friday morning (November 14, 2025).
As per initial trends, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) candidate Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa was leading with Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Harmeet Singh Sandhu as her nearest rival.
Ms. Randhawa was leading with 2,910 votes as against the AAP nominee’s 2,285 votes.
Congress candidate Karanbir Singh Burj was at the third spot with 1,379 votes, and Independent candidate Mandeep Singh was at the fourth position with 1,005 votes.
The counting at Piddi’s International College of Nursing will be completed in 16 rounds. There were 15 candidates in the fray.
The polling was held on November 11, which saw a voter turnout of 60.95%.
