Ranveer Singh recently shared a touching story about how his romance with Deepika Padukone first took shape in Udaipur. Speaking at the sangeet ceremony of Netra Mantena and Vamsi Gadiraju, he described the city as more than just a backdrop it was a turning point in his personal life.

“I want to tell you, Udaipur is like a lucky charm for love stories. I shot a movie here called Ram-Leela. Have you seen it?” he said to the crowd, receiving cheers. He added, “It was back in the day and I was starring opposite your bhabhi. It was on the long Udaipur schedule of Ram-Leela that our love story blossomed.”
Recalling how far they’ve come, Ranveer continued, “Since then, it’s been 13 years of togetherness, 7 years of marriage and one beautiful baby girl! So you see, Udaipur is very, very lucky for love stories!”
Ranveer and Deepika’s relationship began on the sets of Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, which they filmed in Udaipur. The couple later starred together in Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, and 83, and tied the knot on November 14, 2018, in Lake Como, Italy.
In September 2024, they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Dua.
Ranveer’s heartfelt remarks at the wedding event left the audience emotional, highlighting how Udaipur holds a deeply sentimental place in their journey symbolising that sometimes, the most beautiful love stories grow quietly, far from the spotlight.
