Residents of reorganised villages in Erode asked to represent their objection if any


District Collector S. Kandasamy said that residents of the 12 new village panchayats in Erode district who wish to object to the reorganisation may submit written appeals to the State government.

In a release, he stated that, as per Government Order No. 343 dated December 5, 2025, three hill area village panchayats in Anthiyur, Sathyamangalam, and Thalavadi taluks have been split and reorganised into 12 new village panchayats. The order was published in a special issue of the Erode District Gazette on December 13, 2025.

Wards for the upcoming ordinary elections will be delineated based on the new panchayats. Residents of the affected areas who wish to object to the reorganisation may submit written appeals to the Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat Department, Secretariat, Chennai – 600 009 within 30 days from the date of the gazette publication. All objections received within this period will be reviewed and forwarded to the State government, the release added.
