RPF arrested two for damaging DRM inspection car in Salem


The Railway Protection Force (RPF) arrested two persons for damaging the inspection car of the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Salem division on Saturday (October 11, 2025).

On October 2, the inspection car of the DRM was vandalized by unknown persons. A special team of RPF verified the CCTV footage and identified the accused as P. Mani (23), a resident of Kollapatti and A. Sheik Ummar (54), a resident of Old Suramangalam. The police arrested the duo and remanded them in prison on Saturday (October 11).

RPF sources said that the accused persons consumed liquor near Salem Junction Railway Station on the evening of October 1, where the inspection car was parked. In an inebriated state, the duo broke the window glass and entered and slept inside the inspection car, sources added.
