Second edition of Women’s Kabaddi World Cup to be held in Bangladesh


The second Women’s Kabaddi World Cup will be held in Bangladesh from November 15 to 25. The tournament will take place at the Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.

This is the third time the event has moved venues and dates in the last five months. It was originally scheduled to take place in Bihar in June. Later, Hyderabad was supposed to host it at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium from August 3 to 10, before it was ‘indefinitely postponed’ to after the conclusion of the ongoing Pro Kabaddi League.

According to sources, the International Kabaddi Federation (IKF) has turned to India’s neighbour to finally get the tournament going.

Argentina, Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei, Germany, the Netherlands, Iran, Japan, Kenya, Nepal, Thailand, Uganda, Zanzibar, Poland and India are the 14 countries expected to compete for the title.
