Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries.
Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Mr. Siddaramaiah said he would pray for strength to walk the path shown by Gandhiji.
Every year, the country observes the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi under whose leadership India attained freedom, he said, while attributing the country’s freedom to his struggle and sacrifice. “I pray for strength to walk the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi,” he said.
Mr. Siddaramaiah also paid tributes to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.
Describing him as a ‘very honest’ person, Mr. Siddaramaiah prayed for his soul and strength to walk the path shown by him.
The Chief Minister also extended his greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of Vijayadashami.
