As the five police personnel in connection to the custodial death of B. Ajith Kumar, 29, was under judicial custody till July 15, their custody was extended till July 29 on Tuesday.
Following the custodial death of security guard in Sivaganga on June 28, six police personnel – Prabhu, Kannan, Sankara Manikandan, Raja, Anand, and Ramachandran, in connection to the death of the victim was suspended.
A First Information Report was registered against the police personnel, and subsequently, five police personnel except Ramachandran were arrested and lodged in prison under judicial custody.
Judicial Magistrate Venkatesh Prasad extended the custody of the five accused police personnel till July 29.
